Did you accidentally drop your iPod in the toilet? In a puddle? In Ubu's water bowl? It happens! Here is what you can do to try and save your iPod!
1. DO NOT TURN IT ON!!!
The immediate reaction is to try to turn on the iPod to see if it works. If there is water inside and the battery activates, you could fry everything!
2. Pry open the iPod with a thin plastic tool or a flat heat screwdriver if you can do it without ruining the paint job! A guitar pic works wonders as well!
3. Let the inside of the iPod dry out! Simple as that. Give it a few days and make sure its in a cool dry place. Some people have tried to put it under a lamp, you can try that too...whatever works! Use a hair dryer if you need faster results. Just make sure everything is completely dry before you try to turn it on and test it out.
4. After a few days of dryness, then give it a try and charge it. If it still doesn't work, feel free to send it to us and we'll take a look at it. It could be the logic board, the hard drive, the battery or even the headphone jack could be busted if you aren't getting sound. Either way, we'll test it out and let you know what it would take to fix it!
